About QRMenoo
Last updated: August 21, 2026
QRMenoo (qrmenoo.com) is a web platform that helps restaurants, cafés, bars and hotels publish digital menus accessible via QR code. Guests scan a code at the table and browse the full menu on their own phone in seconds — no app download, no account creation, no waiting.
Who we are
QRMenoo is built and operated by Dasenakis Nikolaos, a software developer based in Greece. The product was conceived from direct observation of the friction that restaurant owners face when maintaining printed menus — the costs, the delays, the waste — and the equally frustrating experience of international guests trying to navigate a menu in a language they do not read.
We are a small, independent operation. Every decision about the product — what features to build, how to price them, how to handle support — is made by us directly. There are no investors, no board, and no corporate agenda. The goal is simply to build a tool that genuinely helps the people who run restaurants, and to keep it available free of charge to those who cannot yet justify a paid subscription.

Why we built QRMenoo
Before the widespread adoption of QR codes in hospitality, a restaurant's menu was a physical object — one that needed to be redesigned, reprinted and re-laminated every time a price changed or a dish was added. For a small restaurant updating its menu seasonally, this meant hundreds of euros per year in printing costs. For a café that changes its specials weekly, it was effectively impossible to keep printed menus current.
At the same time, international tourism has fundamentally changed who walks through restaurant doors. A Greek taverna in a coastal town might seat guests from Germany, France, Russia, the UK and China on the same evening. A single-language printed menu, however beautiful, cannot serve all of them.
QR code menus solve both problems simultaneously. A digital menu costs nothing to update — the owner makes a change online and it is live within seconds, on every table, without printing a single page. And because the menu is a web page, it can be translated into any language and presented appropriately to each guest.
We built QRMenoo because we wanted a solution that was genuinely easy for non-technical restaurant owners to use, that started free, and that did not require a long-term commitment before a business owner could see whether it worked for them.
How the product works
QRMenoo provides restaurant owners with an online dashboard where they can build and manage their digital menu. The menu is organised in a way that mirrors how physical menus are structured:
- Sections are the top-level tabs a guest sees — for example "Food", "Drinks", "Desserts". Each section appears as a navigation tab in the guest view, letting visitors jump directly to the part of the menu they want.
- Categories group related items within a section — for example, within the Food section, you might have "Starters", "Pasta", "Grilled Meats", "Salads". Each category shows as a labelled group in the menu.
- Items are the individual dishes, drinks or desserts. Each item has a name, a price, an optional description, and — on every plan — a photo (1 on Bronze, more on paid plans). Allergen and dietary labels are available on Gold.
Once a menu is set up, QRMenoo generates a unique QR code for the venue. The restaurant owner downloads this code, prints it (at any size, on any material), and places it on their tables. When a guest arrives and scans the QR code, the full live menu opens in their phone's browser — typically within one to two seconds.
The critical advantage over printed menus is that the QR code is permanent. It always points to the same URL, which always shows the current version of the menu. Every time the owner makes a change — correcting a price, adding a new dish, removing a seasonal item — the change is visible to the next guest who scans the code. The QR code itself never needs to be reprinted.
Who QRMenoo is designed for
QRMenoo is designed for any food and beverage venue that wants to present its menu to guests digitally. This includes:
- Restaurants of all sizes — from family-run tavernas and trattorie to larger dining establishments
- Cafés and coffee shops — particularly those that update their specials or seasonal offerings frequently
- Bars and cocktail bars — where drinks menus change regularly and photo presentation of cocktails increases orders
- Hotels — for pool bars, room service menus, breakfast buffet listings and in-house restaurant menus
- Beach clubs and resort venues — where guests are often international tourists who benefit from translated menus
The product is particularly well-suited to venues in tourist areas, where a significant proportion of guests may not read the local language. The AI translation feature means a venue can have its menu available in English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and other languages without hiring a professional translator or maintaining multiple printed menus.
Key features
- Instant updates: Changes to prices, item names, descriptions or availability go live in seconds. No publishing delay, no reprinting required.
- No guest app required: Guests open the menu by pointing their phone camera at the QR code. Nothing to download or install.
- Allergen and dietary labels: On the Gold plan, each item can be tagged with EU-standard allergen information and custom dietary labels (Vegan, Vegetarian, Halal, Spicy, etc.), displayed clearly on the guest menu.
- Multi-language support: Menus can be displayed in English, Greek, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Chinese and more. Guests switch language using a simple selector.
- AI translation: On paid plans, the entire menu can be translated into any supported language with a single click, using AI that understands culinary vocabulary and handles dish names correctly.
- AI description writer: On paid plans, the AI generates professional, appetising dish descriptions based on the item name and any notes you provide — saving time and producing better copy than most restaurant owners would write themselves.
- Item photos: Every plan includes item photos (1 per item on Bronze, 2 on Silver, 4 on Gold). Photos are automatically optimised for fast loading on mobile devices.
- Multiple venues: Gold supports two venues — each with its own menu, QR code and settings — from a single account. Bronze and Silver include one venue.
Plans and pricing
QRMenoo offers a genuinely free plan — called Bronze — with no credit card and no trial that expires. Bronze includes 1 venue, 1 section, up to 20 items, 1 photo per item, a header photo and your QR code. Guest menus have no advertisements.
Two paid plans — Silver and Gold — add more items and sections, extra photos, AI tools (translation and description writing), extra languages, analytics, allergen tags and a company logo (Gold), and a second venue (Gold). Paid plans are billed monthly or annually (with a discount for annual billing) and can be cancelled at any time.
The free plan exists because we believe every restaurant owner — regardless of budget — deserves access to a basic digital menu they can actually put on a table. Revenue from paid subscribers supports the infrastructure and development that keeps the free tier available.
Privacy and data
QRMenoo is operated from the European Union and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We collect only the data needed to provide the service: your account email, the content of your menu, and billing information (which is processed by our payment provider, Paddle, and never stored on our servers).
We do not sell personal data. We do not share your account information with third parties for marketing. Menu content — item names, prices, descriptions and photos — is by design publicly accessible, as the purpose of a digital menu is to be visible to guests.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Content standards
Menu content is provided by each venue owner. Owners must only publish lawful, family-safe, non-infringing content. We do not permit illegal, hateful, adult, violent, deceptive or copyright-infringing material. If you encounter a menu that appears to violate these rules, please contact us at info@qrmenoo.com with the menu URL and a description of the concern.
For the full acceptable use policy, see our Terms of Service.
